Julie Shelton, Forage
Julie has lived the food system from the paddock to the festival stage. She co-managed an organic farm, founded major local food events, helped build regional agribusiness networks and has connections across the country. Her strength is knowing who, what and how to connect to make things happen.
Julie Shelton has a rare ability to see both the big picture and the next practical step. Before Forage, she spent 10 years co-managing a diversified organic farm, giving her a grounded understanding of what producers are really carrying. Since then, she has helped shape local food movements through the Real Food Festival, the Food & Agribusiness Network and consulting work across regional food, events and enterprise development.
Julie is one of those people who seems to know everyone — producers, chefs, retailers, councils, industry bodies and regional food advocates across the country. But her value is not just in who she knows. It is in how she listens, joins the dots and helps people move from good intentions to practical action.
